Starhawk - Image 1Here's a little something for the Warhawk fans, that includes you, TouchDaSkeleton! Sony recently filed for a new trademark called Starhawk. Looking back at the Warhawk in space rumor that buzzed around last month, we might be looking at a rumor confirmed.

According to the application filed by SCEA, the name Starhawk is put under computer game software and video game software. Naturally, the application tells us no other details on the specs of this new trademark. It really smells like a space Warhawk title, but for now, this remains a rumor.

» hmm...

Warhawk to Starhawk? Like Warcraft to Starcraft?

» lol.

What's so bad about it being FPS? Having increased immersion and accuracy is a bad thing now?

I'd much rather see the inside view of the *****pits and vehicles in any game than just see the whole vehicle all the time. At least an option between the two.

Example: Star Wars Battlefront 1 + 2 let you choose between FPS and TPS views. The FPS views were actual FPS views as well, not just the camera being pinned to your chest with a crosshair in the middle of the screen.

Increased immersion? Maybe to you...certainly not to some of us who dislike first person views and find it incredibly limited and irritating. If there is an option though I hope it's not like the crap ones in games like Fallout 3 where the character in third person barely ever seems like he's actually there in the environment.

» Awesome!

I can't wait for more news on this! I hope they give us a massive single player story mode too.

» Yeah

Yeah a proper single player mode would be nice. I know it's all about the multiplayer but it was a bit much going straight into a complex MMO as Warhawk without any real tutorial. They released one after I think but a single player campaign would be nice :)
