Soul Calibur IV: more on the "tease" in that teaser

Now that a new teaser another Soul Calibur is out, fans of the franchise are eager to compare what's known about the new installment (Soul Calibur IV) from the previous versions in the franchise. Since there wasn't much shown in that short teaser, folks turn to the previewed character art and lament/rejoice that it seems that with each passing Soul Calibur title, the appearance of the ladies become more and more "gratuitous" (for lack of a more politically correct term).

Games Radar has a rather lengthy musing on the state of mammaries in the Soul Calibur franchise, even going through images of other female characters in the game (like Tira and Setsuna) and analyzing their glands. While it's good cheesecake and all that, we believe that the video below that we found on GameTrailers better illustrates the clothing/mamary situation in Soul Calibur IV.

Should we attribute this advent of cheesecake to the rise in popularity of the Dead or Alive franchise? Or should we just think of this as Namco Bandai recognizing the "needs" of their fanbase? Or are all the writers for websites just out of puberty? Soul Calibur One and Two gave you the female ninja character with big bouncy boobs and rather prominent nipples. Ivy's costume in the teaser is nothing compared to the ones from III.

I actually do not see why some people try to be high and mighty and look down on this kind of thing.

In fighting games, Street Fighter set the stage for the fighting ganre. It was later followed by another fighting game, Mortal Kombat, which threw in the gimick of excessive blood and death.

Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive are just doing the same thing, only instead of excessive blood spray, they have excessive boob bounce.

Whether it is blood or boob, it is just a fun twist on top of an already great fighting game. I could not look down on this anymore then I could look down upon unrealistic talking animals in a disney movie.

I seriously don't know why a lot of people have to complain about this. WHY? They're just breasts. They aren't going to kill anyone, hurt anyone, or cause someone to commit suicide. COME ON! THEY'RE JUST BOOBS!! Women have breasts! I know it's shocking. A lot of you out there may have to sit down and take a breather. It's a lot to handle, but BOOBS aren't going anywhere! Sexuality is plastered everywhere movies, tv, music(videos), commercials, magazines, internet, billboards. It's everywhere, why not videogames?
