This is Living TV - Image 1Just a couple of days prior to the PS3 launch in Europe, Sony decided to resurrect its "This is living" slogan by coming out with a new teaser video clip. It would be remembered that a series of similar clips were released before the delay in that territory was announced.

Anyway, we watched the new video and we can say that Sony hasn't lost its touch when it comes to producing quality and rather eccentric material. But on a deeper level, the video clip is kind of conveying a new message, or perhaps more appropriately, a new service for the PS3.

Please take note that "This is Living" is now "This is Living TV." Phil Harrison mentioned a couple of days ago that they are considering an HDTV movie download for the console. We guess for you to be able to comment on this, or even understand what we are talking about, you have to see the new video first. The Read link should take you to the official site.

» so bizarre

too weird for me, but I suppose that an HDTV download system would be a GREAT way to add value to your ps3

But I suppose the best would be to rent HDTV movies on a "channel" where you download them ( or stream if you can ) and after they finished downloading, they start a timer so you have 2 days to watch the movie and you pay like 2$ for this, so you can rent a movie online for cheap, without having to rent HDDVDs or BDs nor buying the play ( already have the ps3 but anyway, you understand ).

:D:D

The best would be that we could access the files with linux, so we could copy them, but I suppose sony wouldn't let us, lol.

Not that I own a PS3, nor am I considering buying one. But it would be great for every PS3-owners out there. I am enjoying my 360 video service wich i think works very good, and I hope that Sony can bring this or a similar service. Sony has a number of studios under their wings with a lot of great content to "give" the customers. I hope that Sony reveal some more upgrades and new services to at GDC next week. And I hope MS has some good stuff up their sleeves to. Night.

» I want a PS3 now!!

I like this idea, and they will probably have rent as well as buying. you can rent PSP games which means it has a time limit to play for.
