Sony's survey reveals future PS3-PSP connectivity plans

Over at online forums site PS3Forums, user sqrtlsqd7 claims that a recent PlayStation Underground survey is hinting at a possible new connectivity between Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. Among the many questions found on the said survey, the following are the most interesting ones:

Use the device to complete side missions for console games (unlockables, etc.)
Transfer media (music/pictures/videos) wirelessly from the console to the device (broadcast television, new levels for games)
Use the device while playing the console game as an additional weapon/utility to help the gameplay (2nd player option, radar for incoming enemies, etc.)
Record gameplay console video

Those old enough to remember know that a similar move was done by Nintendo with the GameCube (GC) and GameBoy Advance (GBA) consoles - especially with the Fire Emblem franchise - so these things are really possible.

It should also be remembered that a member of the homebrew community recently unearthed a hidden code in FW 3.50 referring to a video and audio output functionality to the PSP. Until such time that Sony gives an official statement, we're taking this one with a grain of salt.

this sounds pretty cool!. I liked the idea back with the gamecube, like how they had 4 swords and that ff game. However, as long as they dont make it as lame as the only way to play 2 player is if both people have psps thats just lame. but for the idea of adding new features to a game if a psp is being used, or the video record...thats just an amazing idea, im looking forward to see what happens with this.

That make a lot of sense and the expectations... like everyone was saying about the game.. thats the only thing that everyone will drop jaws.. like always killzone is more eyecandy that everything... killzone and MGS will demostrate the true power of the PS3...

Really... u have to post it in every blog entry? with one is more than ok to be heard... but I agree with you.. I don't like halo to much... even the beta... but gears of war is a different story.. I love it :P... I like resistance.. I don't know why.. is very adictive to me... like the maps and waiting for the new ones...

just one big ROFL. he listed almost all games that are still in development or already released.

Also, just because there are better games, it doesnt mean the "less better" games are trash. and why the ***** is it called a fact sheet if its an opinion? and since its posted in every blog entry, i can tell from the actions that a person below 15 that likes "OMG GOOD GRAPHICS LOL" (aka fanboy). halo 3 and nearly all of the listed games aren't released yet. this also proves my previous statement.
