Sony's compatibility checker updated to include 80 GB PlayStation 3

Wondering if your copy of Disgaea 2 will run without a hitch on your newly-bought 80 GB PlayStation 3? Sony's US PlayStation site has recently updated its PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 compatibility checker. Visitors can now opt to see if their games might have any specific bugs when run on the 80 GB unit's software-based emulator. A quick check of the site indicates that Disgaea 2 will experience a 5% slowdown on the opening FMV - nothing too big.

But while the the checker runs fine scanning old PS2 and PSOne games, newer titles like Persona 3 drew up a complete blank. Guess we'll have to wait for updates to the site. Guys interested in seeing their collection's compatibility with the new PS3 model can drop by the read link to access Sony's support page.
