Remember the white PlayStation 3 Sony released a couple of months ago to the territories of Japan? If the recent info we picked is accurate, then we just might be seeing this cream-colored machine arriving in North America as well.

The info snippet we're talking about are a couple of updated documents Sony had recently submitted to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. Aside from some letters and tech reports, perhaps most telling were several picture taken of the said 40GB PS3 unit, and a copy of the FCC certification stamp that it would carry.

While this is very strong evidence that Sony just might be releasing this new unit into American soil, it may be best to wait for official word from them. We've provided for screenshots of the white PS3 here.

As much as I'd like to get this new color. I'd just rather stay with the piano-black colored PS3. And see the black colored PS3 drop in price to like $299-340.

Only 2 USB ports on the white model, and I think its only a 40 gb. The back is kind of rearranged. I'd rather keep my 4 USB ports cause I use all of them as it is.

Too bad it's only available on the cut down 40gb model and not my full-featured 60gb. At least it matches my PSP since sony never released any other PSP colors here.

My black ps3 is ugly compared to this white one.

Anyway, I just hope they'll stop making black ones, so when my ps3 80g black breaks (I have 3 year warrantY), I'll replace it for a white one :D. Still, 40g is a loss, lol.
