Looking at the video, it seems that Sony has really though the PlayTV through, with the user interface looking pretty slick and intuitive. Scrolling through the different channels and calling them up with the SIXAXIS also looks pretty easy to do, as well as accessing the videos you've downloaded. Definitely something to think about, if you're looking for a PVR to match your PlayStation3.
Slated to hit store shelves this year, the sleek-looking piece of kit that hooks up to your PS3's USB port performs everything a Personal Video Recorder can do, though now onto your beast of a next-gen console. Besides being able to watch, record and rewind live TV programming, its dual tuner also allows users to watch one channel while recording another. There's also the deal about using the PS3's Wi-Fi capabilities to hook up with your PSP and watch TV from your portable, which is all sorts of awesome.

too bad there's no tv service like that in the states. its all good - i'm fine with all the great games coming out this year. MGS/MGO FTW!
I want this and would buy it today if I could.
they need a TIVO thing if they want it for this year... or we have to wait to 2009...if they let me choose if I want a TIVO like service or the actual play TV I will choose the TIVO like thing... more channels for me to record lol... but with the same software interface.. it looks amazing the play tv

I dont think its coming out in 2009 because Sony already said before that it was coming this year.
Please bring this out in North America! I would love something like this, and the playtv menu and everything looks nice and robust.
buy this on the first day if it came to NA.
but this is why i lik sony. always evolving tech gadgets always developing, always thinking ahead.
the interface seems to be far more fluid than my sky digital menus.

I was saying for us.. the US people... for the EU people will be this year I know.. but for us only few states can use this for now... for the rest will have the technology in the end of the year and in 1st Q

We're getting a taste of what you guys are feeling over there. Feel kinda sorry everytime I see that a game is coming out late over there..
