Sony underestimating online platform, says Microsoft UK director |
Ó
Another Microsoft UK officer has something to say about the delay of the PlayStation Home service. Microsoft's senior regional director in the UK and Ireland, Neil Thompson, said that Home was something that Sony's customers wanted, and that it's a mistake to not give them what they expect. Thompson continued:I think one of the disappointing/interesting things I heard from them at the Tokyo Game Show was that they just delayed the [Home] online service delivery again. That's more interesting, because I think they underestimated how challenging it is to deliver this sort of service, and to deliver the elements of the service that consumers really want.
Thompson is also skeptical about how the finished product would look like. He said that Sony managed to stir up a high level of interest for the Home service, and is wondering if Sony will live up to the PS3 gamer's expectations.

"He said that Sony managed to stir up a high level of interest for the Home service, and is wondering if Sony will live up to the PS3 gamer's expectations" .says the company that overhyped everyone about halo 3. if microsft wants to complain online they should see nintendo...
i hate to say it but his telling the truth. i was really looking forward to home but now that its going to be a very long time until it comes out. i am not really looking forward to it anymore. sony really needs to stop making the fans wait for something great to come out.
Why post this, I mean, DAH that M$ will insult sony and vise versa, they are not playing in coop but in a "last man standing". :S
he is telling half truth, since all/most ps3 owners can get a hold of the open beta around the date home was supose to be released... course we never got a true answer to the failure rates on the 360 except for them saying "our consumers love their xbox 360" was just to avoid the question, but what ever, ut3 and haze ftw lol
