Sony has given word that it will be refunding those who purchased Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer and MediEvil from the PlayStation Network (PSN). Both games reportedly could not load certain levels which were necessary in completing the games.
The company has sent out emails to its customers that the refunds will be added to the PlayStation Store wallet within the next seven days. After this, both games will then be dropped from the PSN lists. The exact statements of the publisher regarding the matter are as follows:
You will be aware from the description of the product on PlayStation Store that some variation in functionality from the original PSone version is to be anticipated. However there appear to be more significant technical issues.
While it's a bit sad that Sony had to remove these games from their online library, its great that they've decided to refund the people who did purchase the game. Hopefully, they'll work out the problems and have the games available for download once again in the future.

Apart from security measures, what's the difference between PSN releases and Popstation conversions anyway?

I know they can get the rights as Japan's PSN is overloaded in PS1 games; they may just be waiting until the install base is profitable here in the states and in the UK.
Also, Both of these games were genuine classics, and I hope very much that these come out (fixed) again in the future.
