Following the announcment of Heavy Rain's release date, Sony has affirmed that they're still planning to release a demo to give prospective buyers an idea of what the game's all about.

Here's what a Sony rep told gaming blog VG247:

Yes we're still planning a demo pre-release. I can't tell you the details now but we'll have more information soon.

Late last year, Quantic Dream's David Cage revealed that work was being done on a demo, although he did note that picking a cene that encapsulates Heavy Rain was turning out to be a real challenge.

Heavy Rain is currently slated for a February 23 release in the US . The UK release is set for February 26 while the rest of Europe will get it on February 24.

Not even going to bother with the demo. This game had my preorder years ago.

A demo can sway a lot of people still on the fence. Of course that could go either way.

There better damn well be a demo. I'm sick of newer games coming out with no demo. Specially console-only games, where you can't usually find... other ways to try the game.

I'll try the demo, but I've been way over FMV games since Dragon's Lair... or maybe Deadhead Fred. Though I admit, Space Ace still has a special place in my cold little heart.

Just viewed January Qore subscription and it has a very brief demo...about 15 seconds only.

I've already pre-ordered it before trying this demo however.
