Sony: PS Home is not our business priority right now

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I just spotted a contradiction in this statement right here: "It's been a long road. We've proved there is a market out there and we've got a lot of people that spend a lot of time in [Home]. It's not a priority right now but there is a business model there."

Market. Booming. Boom.

That would be Peter Edward, Home director, at the London Games Conference talking about their uber-hyped PlayStation Home. There's a market there, but it's not their priority? Funny, and here we were thinking that all these past months they were building it up for something greater.

I don't know. I just find it rather uncharacteristic of Sony to not take full advantage of a market (seven million in the first seven months, they said) that's supposedly booming, wouldn't you agree?

Care to elaborate on that, Mr. Edwards?

Thanks to Tim H. for the tip!

» Um...

Not only is this old news, but Sony has already retracted it and said they were misquoted

» misquoted or not, I never really liked Home

And I never really used it. Too much load, too much nothing to do on that. Still, I gess some people like it, like second life. Anyway, not my type or entertainment.

Hi Home Community,

Allow me to put your minds at ease about this recent press. The coverage of what Pete Edwards said at the London Games Conference was not only a misquote, it was a misreprentation of what he actually said.

Edwards was saying that monetizing Home was not as big a priority as building a great platform, with a compelling environment and a strong community. Home is still a top priority for Sony and will continue to release quality content and provide a positive experience to our users.

And yes, we will continue working on fixing bugs, login problems, and other user issues.

Hope this helps!

I was thinking this as soon as I saw the article title.

Outdated by at least a week.

I'm glad that waste-of-time piece of ***** is not their priority. Even if it was everything they said it was it still wouldn't be that great.
