Sony Online Entertainment to work directly under Kaz Hirai and SCEI |

Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. (SCEI) has announced a new internal structure change within the company which will move Sony Online Entertainment under the direct supervision of the larger SCEI branch effective April 1.The San Diego-based SOE, currently part of Sony Pictures Entertainment, will now work directly under Kaz Hirai and the team which brought everyone the PlayStation 3. SOE will still continue to develop online games for both the PC and the next-gen PS3 console.
Hirai recognized the integral part online gaming plays in the PS3 entertainment experience. He hopes that this new structure will allow them to take full advantage of the situation through the expertise of the two companies' combined efforts.
