Sony officially confirms PS3 Greatest Hits bundle as Target-exclusive, price cut still possible? |

The news about a PS3 Greatest Hits bundle was pretty much already confirmed yesterday with a picture and some details right out of Target. Today, Sony makes it official. What's more is that they've now also confirmed that this MotorStorm + R:FoM SKU will be specifically available in Target only.
In an email to Ars Technica, Sony indicated that these units will be sold in Target "in limited quantities." According to Ars Technica, this clause leaves room for a price cut still being announced during next week's GDC or much later in E3 '09.
This is because, initially when the Greatest Hits budget-bundle surfaced, people scrapped the idea of a price cut. But now knowing that it's only available in limited supply, there could still be a chance that Sony would announce a price cut across the entire board of retailers and across all PS3 models.

M$ whore. if you read the articles on here often then you would know that ps3 and crapbox r pretty much even world wide. so a price cut would make more people buy it.

people complain too much for 399 you get alot more than the 360 and yet you complain that its still too expensive.I shelled out 500 bucks for my japanese 360 so i can play their exclusive games because i love anime and their games are about my favorite animes example Clannad. I sold a couple of things on Ebay to buy it but it was possible. Your getting a blu ray player that alone is like 300 bucks if you buy a regular one then wifi wich for the 360 its 99bucks for an attachment plus HDMI output on all PS3 plus rechargable dualshock controller. Im sure these extra items are worth 99 more plus sony needs to make money so they can pay off people to make exclusives for the system just like MS is doing. No wonder PS3 has like 3 exclusives every year since it came out!!!

Are they bringing the Greatest Hits games over from Japan or not? I want to buy Folklore really badly but have lots of other PS3 games to buy this year.
I do enjoy my LBP, very much so.
I already have the 60GB model and payed $600 for it and still even at that price it's worth it. I had a couple of friends over awhile back and one brought his XBOX 360. My other friend was looking to buy either a 360 or a PS3 so we played some games. My friend hooked up his 360 to my 60" 1080p tv and we played some Gears. It looked awesome but later we played some Motorstorm and some Uncharted and then right away my friend wanting to buy a system, said PS3 was his choice. To me it is the first choice, if you want the all around experience. By the way, I also typed this from my PS3.

how low can they drop the playstation 3 price while still making a profit? How much does it cost to even manufacture a ps3?
they just started to make a profit on the ps3 so for that reason i know there not doing a price cut
then this is a pretty good deal. You still get two ps3 games, plus the ps3 and dualshock controller for $399.
while its pretty slick to offer the first version of a game, knowing damn well it will convert them for the second version, it doesn't exactly create a VA situation for the customer (unless you're hoping that they are horribly stupid). This bundle doesn't justify the price.
It's time to lower the price.

both sides yell statistics of sales, which doesnt realy mean popularity directly, just affordability vs quality.
