This one serves as a breath of fresh air for Sony Corporation. The company has been hounded by bad publicity for a good number of months now. And anyone who had experience that will tell you it's suffocating. There would come a time when you wouldn't want to pay attention to it any longer and just go about your business. It seems that Sony is doing exactly that.Sony just extended its helping hands by giving away 200 games with a retail value of over U.S. $ 5,000 to the charity foundation, Get-Well Gamers. The foundation is dedicated in bringing electronic entertainment to children's hospitals for over five years now. This project is to help alleviate patients' pain and suffering while confined and being treated.
Get-Well Gamers President Ryan Sharpe, in return, couldn't hide his joy and appreciation. "We are deeply grateful to the Sony Corporation for its wonderful generosity, especially with the holiday season upon us," said Sharpe. He comments that such acts definitely help sustain a public charity.
The California-based foundation is accepting all sorts of gaming entertainment, from consoles to handhelds and the different software they support. "ThatÂ’s why weÂ’re encouraging everyone to use the Sony donation as a shining example and not hesitate to give as well. No matter how small, every donation makes a difference," Sharpe announced. Interested gamers can contact them at the company's official site which you can visit by clicking on the 'Read' link.

Im just glad there is a charity using games to help people, who are undergoing som hardocre stuff.
Beleive me games really do help.
Had a mate with sunken chest, had to get his ribs bent fowards. He was totally fe'd up, and I lent him my GBA and he said it was the most enjoyable thing in the whole bloody hospital. It was a big moral booster, and improved his attidude and mood a helluvalot.
= a better recovery, and when undergoing treatment.
And Jack Thompson says games kill people

Meh, who cares? The charity and the people getting the games win, and that's what matters.
Still doesn't make up for what they did to Lik-Sang though. And it's pretty obvious it was done PURELY for the publcity. Almost like an ad-campaign. Sony cares.
Yeah right.

Yes, I ave to agree even the smallest donation helps, but if Sony donates because to make them look good after running Lik Sang down, I won't appreciate such donations then.
And ,000 for a huge cooperation, what a big donation, comparing to other huge cooperation like Mircosoft. Sure Sony might not have as much as Bill Gates does, but hey, that's only ,000. Why don't they give more, if they really want to get public attention? I doubt that's the best they can do.

"Yeah Sony, you're so good!"
Um. No.
$5,000 is nothing.
they are doing this only to gain their image again. All the fanboys jump on it and praise them, but normal people see right through it.
Even Mc Donalds donates more! Microsoft Donates more! Intel Donates more! HP donates more!
$5000 is a joke.

yeah, Sony is evil. no really, they are, but doing something like this is just nice. bottom line. whatever their alterior motives are, the children who will be playing these video games this holiday season while they recover from their ills won't be worrying about why they got a PS2 for Christmas, just that they have one.
all corporations are sinister. they all are in this business to make money, but that doesn't undermine a positive deed now and then.
i hate Microsoft, but Bill Gates is a philathropist, whether he's doing it for tax reasons or not.
helping our fellow man by doing a good deed or two is just right, even if you motives are to look good in the public's eye. the person you've done the good deed to probably won't complain.
