Sony marketing manager confirms LittleBigPlanet sequel

It appears Sony's acquisition of Media Molecule is already bearing fruit. A sequel to the studio's hit PS3 exclusive, LittleBigPlanet, is apparently already in the works.

Sony Benelux's PlayStation marketing manager, Folkert Langeveld, reportedly confirmed the existence of LittleBigPlanet 2 according to Dutch (?) website Tweakers.net. Eurogamer's translation mentions that the sequel will feature support for Sony's new PlayStation Move controller.

LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule became one of Sony's first-party developers earlier this month. Interestingly enough, Media Molecule said back in November of last year that there will be no sequel for LittleBigPlanet.

Oh dear, another boring PS3 exclusive. I always thought this game was called, littlebitboring planet. Never have I seen a game lack so much creativity! Boring sacks running around boring levels! Least they could do it bring it to XBOX 360 and give us exclusive DLC where we can create our own levels! Well done Microsoft, Well done indeed!

Ya, this is basically one of the few games that a sequel is not needed, even thought it's an amazing game.

The game is so expandable they can just keep doing what they are doing and releasing add-ons, create packages and updates.

I am not sure what they could do in a sequel....unless they totally change how the game is played and that would suck.

Isn't the game in it self a sequel? I mean, every day there is new content on it. This is like a never ending game. Very very awesome. The same wil go for modnation racers I hope.

I wonder why to make a sequel if this game can be built upon with patches and DLC. Unless they change the game engine in any mayor way I think a sequel is not neccesary.
