Sony looks to GAP for advice on God of War III Collector's Edition |
SCEA is looking to its elite horde of gamers, the Gamer Advisory Panel, for advice on what to include in the Collector's Edition release of God of War III.
Judging from the level of detail they're asking for, it seems they're really planning to go all out on this thing. And well they should. They're asking advice on anything from available costumes to T-shirts and figurines to anything else under the sun. I'm hoping someone will suggest authentic Blades of Chaos.
Here's an excerpt from the email they sent out to GAP:
We'd like the G.A.P. community to have a huge influence in the development process of God of War III.
Leading off this month's topic is one that we've been tracking on the G.A.P. and God of War III forums for weeks: What would make the ultimate GOW III Collector's Edition? We've heard that everything from T-shirts and figurines to behind-the-scenes videos will make the ultimate collector's edition, but is that really all?
Here's your chance to give us your 'Kratos' insights on what will make the ultimate God of War III Collector's Edition. Don't hold back. This is your opportunity to create your own ultimate collector's wish list. Rules, you ask? There are none. Just be sure to abide by our Community Site Guidelines and fire away!
Here are a few questions to spark your ideas:
What would make the ultimate GOW III Collector's Edition?
' What types of content would you include? (i.e. figurines, art book, etc.)
' What kind of packaging? (e.g., steel tin box, exclusive artwork, etc.)
' What kind of videos would you like the CE to include?
' Any additional ideas you die-hard God of War minds can think of?

They should include a book of the whole story, action characters toys, a shirt, and maybe a Blades of Chaos key chain too. If the price is right, I would by the Collector's Edition.

alright Isaac i posted your suggested, i asked for it in keychain format or mini replica and unsharpened for safety reasons ;). lets hope thye use this idea seems more nifty.

a free haircut like the one of Kratos. That would be epic...
how can i add ideas to participate?
an extra bonus disc could includ behind the scenes/making of. possibly some video game walk throughs.
for mini-figs of course kratos, but possibly one of the cooler looking enemies in the game
different skin costumes in game. if they wanted to be evil they could charge to download them also, but the collector edition guys get it for free
i nice blood red PS3 with black graphics so it can match the red psp. They should discard the behind the scenes stuff cause hey i always throw it out. oh yea GoW1 and 2 but with better graphics even if its just enough so it wont look bad on hi def. And last but not least a cool statue.

Just coming off of GoW2... it really doesn't need touched! It's an incredibly looking game.
On topic, art books and behind the scenes suck. Boring ol crap. A figurine is deff kewl.
Add the GoW symbol instead of a Playstation 3 in the middle of that Red PS3. But this would be a bundle and not exactly a collector's edition.
For CE I like behind the scene. I don't want a toy like in RE5. I don't even know what to do with that thing. A graphic book of the story signed by the writers or makers(sig opt) would be nice. A metal box and a Blade of Chaos keychain like many mentioned. GoW lotion for that sex minigame XD
No to T-shirts, bags
Give me an animated Minimovie kinda like Afro Samurai. A nice half hour to an hour film summarizing the events of GOW 1 & 2 (even Chains of Olympus) to give me some nice backstory before jumping into 3. They could even make it in parts and just include the first "minisode" in the CE and release the others in installments which people would gladly buy. Be ultra sweet if the did it as a full-fledge animated movie and included it in the CE as an additional Bluray. People who buy the standard one could pick up the Bluray separately. Stranglehold included a movie as did MGS4 (for the most part...)
i think if they were to include god of war 1&2 with it thatd be cool as well as a key chain but gow 1&2 would have to be ported to work on the ps3 not via ps2 emulation just using the ps3 drivers while keeping the same graphics.also cant forget the graphic novel and some commentary does anyone have a link to the site so i can recommend these things
A nice looking tin case (of course), the keychain of the blades of chaos (or at least the GoW symbol), a summary of the story thus far, a free, exclusive to CE buyers theme, and something downloadable for home.
This is a toughie. I mean me being a monster God of War fan, it's kinda hard to pick which ones I'd want, since I'd love a whole list full. I'd be fine with a tin steel box(almost like DMC4 CE), some art work and a Blade of Chaos(or Athena) keychain. T-Shirt would be cool, or a hat.
