The first wave of 3D titles for the PS3 will launch in June, Sony UK has announced. They're not totally new, but you do get them for free if you buy their HX803 3D TV (and if you happen to live in Europe).

The HX803 will come with a download voucher for four 3D-capable games: Wipeout HD, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, PAIN, and Super Stardust HD. Before you can enjoy these games in 3D, though, you'll have to wait for a PS3 firmware update that's supposed to come out in June as well.

3D glasses are also a separate purchase as they apparently don't come with the HX803. The KDL-LX903 comes bundled with a pair, but its launch date is a bit later.

Sony hasn't announced yet if the same release window and the free games promo applies to North America as well.

Heh, forgot to add the link. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is the standard design for the glasses:

The higher end samsung 3d tv's that were released recently have a function to turn regular video into 3d.

I imagine they do it using the same effect killzone does during the loading screens to get the two separate viewpoints.

So it's really going to just be a choice in how you view media, not really a new media type, like HD video.

the 3D glasses work with the TV not with the ps3 system, u dont need to plug it into the ps3 usb port. PS3 outputs video/game with 3D > to the 3D TV, see the logic? ...and @jordan the 3D technology has been running superbly in cinemas, sales have doubled with these new 3D movies being shown. and the phenomenal thing of this is it will be coming to your own living room. ...i can just imagine 3D gaming - with bullets wizzing past your head lol.

I will be waiting for the TVs that don't need glasses. They already have been shown and it won't be long until these come out, too. The beginning will probably make the 3DS next year.

I've been using 3D shutter glasses on PC for years now. Once you've played in 3D you wont want to play in boring 2D again. Having propper depth perception in an FPS is great. Having said all that, I only bought a Bravia 8 mths ago. I'm not going to shell out for another one.
