Sony launches largest ever ad campaign for PlayStation 3 |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: Konami, Peter Dille, PlayStation Network, SCEA
Ó
"We wanted to move beyond the 'power' message with a more high-energy, entertainment driven focus for the PS3," said Dille. He continued, "The games are here, the price point is now $399 and we wanted to make the news loud and clear." Of course, it's not all about the games, because Dille promised a strong push behind the PS3's Blu-ray movie capability and the PlayStation Network.
Speaking of games, the TV spots Dille posted are packed with the hottest high-profile titles for the PS3. While the spotlight is on first-party games, either those already in the market like Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction or upcoming ones such as Uncharted: DrakeÂ’s Fortune and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, third-party titles are expected to join the mix. Dille went as far as saying Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the "mother of all exclusives."
When all is said and done, probably just like you, we simply want to see Sony's explosive offering for this holiday season. Without further ado, here are the TV spots "Universe of Entertainment" and "Only On."

Don't get me wrong, I hope they will do better, I had PS1 and PS2 and enjoyed alot of the games, and I WILL buy a PS3 if they can come up with some exclusive killer apps.. I just wonder how long it is going to take....

One does not need to be an economics major to see that at Sony's current rate of console selling, they will never be able to catch up with and beat Nintendo and MS. If sony Doubles their console sell rate and MS and Nintendo stay the same, by this time 2008, you can expect Sony to have ( assuming sales increase 200%) 15 million consoles sold, Xbox to have 18 Million, and Wii to have 24 Million.
So, as I said, if Sony outsells their competition 3:1 for 12 consecutive months, They STILL wont be ahead. And don't even get me started on how unlikely it is for Sony to triple sales of either 360 or Wii... Especially Wii.
That being said, I hope that MGS4 and Killzone 2 are good enough to make me want a PS3, I would love to have one to watch HD movies on my projector...
When does Killzone 2 come out anyways?

I personally dont give a 5hit if they catch up, cause all that matters is the console itself. And in Japan the PS3 is catching up to the Wii sells.
Basically your a dumbas5 if you pay attention to those numbers that much, damn robot.

And that's one of the best system ads i've seen.
