Sony introduces Zen gaming in Flower's Color and Breezy gameplay trailers

Zen gaming. That's a curious case, isn't it? At first we weren't sure what to make of the gameplay mechanics of that Flower title from ThatGameCompany and Sony. I actually thought it would be something like those fish in your screensavers swimming aimlessly about. Well, I was right on the aspect of it being relaxing, but apparently, there's more to it than green pastures and flower petals tumbling gently in the wind. Let's have a look, shall we?

Color gameplay

Breezy gameplay

That wasn't so bad. For a while there I felt myself transported back to the spa, complete with the tinkling sounds of wind chimes. It was really relaxing, a clear break from all the rapid action we're so used to getting for games.

So apparently, you have to bring back the beauty to the barren land, and from the looks of it, you'll have to collect/spread petals along the way. MTV Multiplayer reports that you control the game by tilting and turning your PS3 controller, obviously fully utilizing the Sixaxis scheme.

We're not really sure yet, though, if there will be any other things you need to do. But hey, you could always playback those videos. Really soothing, huh? Perfect for an induced powernap or something.

It's actually called "Flower", not "Flowers" - it's made by ThatGameCompany , the same dudes who made flOw for PSP, PS3 and PC (flash).

People are calling it a spiritual successor to flOw due to the relaxing and strange gameplay. I can certainly diggit!
