EA CEO John "pirates are a market" Riccitiello recently let slip what supposedly was the name of Sony's motion controller. "Gem," Riccitiello called it. Sony has quickly sent out a rep to clarify a few things.
Speaking to Kotaku, SCEA's Patrick Seybold revealed that "Gem" is just "an early code name for the product" and isn't necessarily the controller's final name. "We haven't announced final name at this point," said Seybold.
I'm actually thankful for that. The "Gem" name just kept making me want to sing the Jem and the Holograms theme song. Still, it's not a flat-out denial, so we could still end up waving "Gem" controllers late next year.

I just hope they don't limit it to the "wand", because it could do essentially the same thing as natal if you attached "gems" (balls) to your hands/feet, head and joints....
