Sony PlayStation 3 - Image 1Well, it looks like the UK is finally getting its share of some Sony-lovin' very soon. Multiple sources in the UK's gaming industry state that Sony Europe will soon announce that aside from the release of a 40 GB PlayStation 3 for £ 299 (US$ 610), they will be marking the 60 GB SKU's retail price down to £ 369 (US$ 753). The move appears to have been done to to boost console sales before the start of the Christmas season.

The report also states that as part of this big move, there are also plans to discontinue the recently released PS3 starter pack. As you guys may recall, this pack includes an extra SIXAXIS controller, Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword, and SCE Studios Liverpool's Formula One Championship Edition. We'll let you know when Sony Europe gives their official statement regarding this information, or if any further details are announced.
