Sony Chairman believes "PS3 making a comeback", stockholders say otherwise |

Sony Corporation is looking to make a comeback and start turning the financial reds into blacks, and eventually profits. The Chairman of the company Howard Stringer addressed stockholders in the annual shareholder meeting and announced that "we [Sony] will shift Sony from recovery to profitable growth."As most would remember, the company suffered heavy financial losses with the battery recall and the release of the Playstation 3. While the battery issue has been resolved, recouping the PlayStation losses is an uphill battle for the company. Stringer spoke on this issues and disclosed how they planned on recouping:
All the production problems have been solved. We are making a comeback already. We always lose money in the hardware initially, and we recover that money gradually. We believe that the PS3 going forward will be vital to our future, and succeed.
Stringer was stating a fact when he said that Sony was recovering, its shares did rise by a good 27% this year. Unfortunately, Stringer's enthusiasm did not seem to rub off on the investors with Sony shares dropping by 1.51% in Tokyo after the shareholder's meeting. I agree with the guy.. They're selling at the same rate 360's were.. I'm sure they'll sell enough to profit in the future.
It's not that PS3 is selling bad.. its that Wii's are selling AMAZINGLY.

They're sale of the PS3 is identical to the 360's sale when it launched. The Wii's success is why the PS3 is being overshadowed. But it's still amazing that the PS3 is selling identical to the rate the 360 was selling when it launched considering the PS3 has two other consoles to compete with the and the 360 had none.
it was said it in the past but is good to let not forget it to the others guys... and now are three.. the 360 was alone... but is lacking of good games and that is the bad side of averything

If your stock rose 27% this year and dropped 1.51% it still equals 26.49% increase for the first six months. That sis awesome! So if you bought stocks at a 1.00 that means you stock is worth 1.26, now this may not seem as much, but if you own a crap load of stocks its pure profit! Sony's stocks today are 53.10 Microsoft 30.22 and Nintendo 45.05.

I have a huge ps2 collection That I worry will become worthless if the ps3 fails.
So many awesome titles on the ps2. And all of them will be as worthless canadian money if the ps3 fails.....

Sony barely makes a profit on Ps3 and are investing millions of $$$$ to satisfy gamers. But makes a product that makes profits on every systems sold, and NIntendo doesnt not invest millions to satisfy gamers like Sony does,
They instead re-release the same and make even more money knowing that their brainwashed fan base will buy no matter what.
