Sony asks: What PS2 games would you like HD-fied?

Sony's making it clear that the HD way is the only way to go. A survey's been in circulation in the Internet asking you fans which games you'd like HD-fied for your PS3.

The survey asks "What titles would you like to see in a future collection (2 or more PS2 titles upgraded with similar features to God of War Collection)?" Given the mention of the GoW Collection, it's probably safe to say that they'll be going down the route of Blu-Raying the "revival", coupled with HD-fied graphics (but of course).

So, which ones are gonna be on your list?

I was thinking just that, I wanted to play it so bad, that I ended up playing in japanese, but believe me it was worth it.The text are all in japanese,but the voices are in english, I got to beat all 13 members of the organization one by one, and to ended it "terra", and we can´t forget the mushrroms mini-game, although the 8 one was very aggravating...

Since they mention Resident Evil, why not both RE: Outbreak and RE: Outbreak File 2. With the amount of PSN users that's bound to be fun and the way Capcom originally pictured the Multiplayer in those two.

I have been contemplating buying a PS2 again just two play those 2 games.

It depends on what ps2 game is being displayed on HDTV. Some ps2 games look crisp such as mgs2 (480i), and God of War (with 480p enabled). Some games look like utter crap on an HDTV such as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Killzone 1. It depends whether if the game's native resolution is high enough. Many older games have a low resolution, and it will look like utter crap on HDTV. On SDTV, the falws are not noticable with low resolution games. Most PS2 games can display up to 480i, but there are noticable combing when fast motion is going across the screen. About 40% of all ps2 games can display 480p, most of them are published by Sony (Ratchet & Clank, God of War, SOCOM).

Most of them will suck. Specially if you're now used to PS3 graphics. I got really disappointed the other day when I turned on my PS2 (I have component cable connection).

Some of them suck even more than others, for example, FF XII looks worse connected with component cables than connected with an analog connection. The textures' resolution is really low even for PS2 graphics, never liked the game much for that.

All PS2 games look bad on HD LCD, unless they support progressive scanning. The only 2 games that support this, as much as I know, are GOW 2 and FF X-2.

you can run gt4 in hd on ps2. if you have a ntsc disc. well it's only 1080i not 1080p, though :/

Gta III, vc and sa with trophies. they're already hd on the pc but Gta games dont feel right on anything other than a playstation
(yes that even includes connecting a dualshock to the pc and also playing them on xbox 1&2) they may look better on the other platforms but they dont feel as solid.

I would love to play POP:sands of time in HD (would work well as the forgotten sands game that just came out is a sequel of it.)

I would also love to see all the James Bond games (ps1 and ps2 ones) being "upgraded" to HD and using some good engine like the assassins creed one [ICE]instead of their own rubbish engines on one super-brilliant disc... but that's probably because im a bond fan-boy

Lots of good games listed here, but the only ones I would buy again would be the Mgs games and TR Legend and Anniversary... (actually, Anniversary already has a widescreen and progressive scan mode so it's almost hd-ified already).

I would probably buy the Legacy of Kain games again too, but I realize I'm probably part of a small niche on that one (please, Crystal Dynamics, make a new LoK).

In short, just give us a decent, emulated, and "configurable" HD upscaler Sony. If it's a premium feature for that kinda emulator, I'd gladly pay monthly for it. As long as it's a ePSXe style emulator but for PS2 because that emulator makes Sony's PS1 upscaler complete garbage. Nice that it's there, but it's garbage nonetheless.
