Sony Asia signs up with more domestic devs, gearing up for region takeover full throttle |

Apart from the reported partnership with Taiwan-based MMO studio Yeck Entertainment, SCE Asia is apparently looking to beefing up their stronghold in the region by striking more deals with a variety of Asian game developers. This appears to be part of the corporation's direct response to their almost-US$ 6,000 million losses last year.Signing a memorandum of understanding with six of the local gaming developers, Sony will then open up for the first time its PlayStation platforms to domestic digital content creators.
Included in this club, other than the previously mentioned Yeck Entertainment, would be the XPEC Entertainment, SOGA Interactive (developer of Kung Fu Hustle) and Bulgarian group Intersev International.
It was also reported that they also made a deal with telephone operators Tatung InfoComm and FarEasTone Telecommunications Co.
SCE Asia President Tetsuhiko Yasuda said in a Taipei Press Conference that this collaboration will "allow Sony Computer Entertainment to broaden its vision and to focus on creating wider networking plans by Spring of next year.
"A complete home entertainment vision will eventually allow all Sony products such as high-definition TVs, handsets, navigation systems and other devices to 'talk' to each other and deliver all forms of digital content."
With this emphasis on digital content, it would probably be safe to surmise that these companies will definitely have something in store for the controversial PSP Go.

This begs the question. Are we going to be informed next year that there will be a new Go and it will be a phone? The Sony GO Phone, sounds catchy. I'd buy that over an iPhone. But only if they dropped the inevitable Ericsson name.
Aka 6billion.... or a typo?
I was trying to do the exact same calculation. I seem to recall them being in the red somewhere around $2 billion, not 6. (Not that $2 billion is chump-change, by any means.)
