Sony and Parsons The New School for Design team up for LittleBigPlanet Game Jam |
Ó
Move over models and designers. The Sackboy is set to invade New York's Parsons The New School for Design. Yep, it's the LittleBigPlanet invading the world of all that is fashionable and glamorous.
SCEA and Parsons have announced today their partnership in hosting the LittleBigPlanet Game Jam, a 14-hour extravaganza that will take place in Parsons, New York City on September 21 to 22. A 24-hour video game design competition will take place, featuring more than 120 students from various disciplines, like technology, music, fashion design, illustration and photography. The task is to create the most inventive and challenging game levels within the said period for Media Molecule's PS3 exclusive title.
Here's the mechanics for the competition:
- Participants will break off into teams of five
- Each team will create levels utilizing LBP's easy-to-use creation tools over the course of one day.
- At the end of the 24-hour period, each team's work will be presented to the panel of judges composed of Media Molecule, various Parsons faculty and members of the media.
- Winning Game Jam levels will be featured in a specially branded Parsons section within LittleBigPlanet when it launches in October
We are thrilled to be partnering with some of the most imaginative talents in the world at Parsons The New School for Design. The LittleBigPlanet Game Jam is the perfect way to showcase the original and innovative aspects of LittleBigPlanet as well as the exceptional design abilities of the students at Parsons.
So again, if you're in the area on the said dates, and you feel like you have a chance, then do drop by and go for it.
