Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is definitely off to Hollywood! Sony's hell-bent on bringing Nathan Drake's action-packed treasure-hunting adventure to the big screen that they've already met with director David O. Russell to get things going.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Sony approached the director regarding his potential work for the movie, but that there are in fact several other directors that the company is considering for the job. The report describes it as "the meeting stage, and not close to the dealmaking one."

Other tidbits about the Uncharted movie would be that the script would be penned by Thomas Dean Donelly and Joushua Oppenheimer ("Sahara", the new "Conan the Barbarian"), and that they're setting their eyes on a summer 2011 release.

David O. Russell's filmography includes Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees, Flirting with Disaster, Spanking the Monkey, and the upcoming The Fighter, starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale.

Well I loved sahara so the story will hopefully be just as amazing bu that director I've never heard about and his movies I've also never even heard about. Hopefully they get a good director. Anyway hopefully they get some big name actors in to make the movie not feel cheap and unrealistic acting. Drake is most important. Hopefully they get a witty humourous holy shit I just almost died kinda guy. Maybe not an off the shelf actor but a good one none the less.

Those are far too difficult and more expensive. Plus an Uncharted movie with real actors would be fantastic. An animated movie would be the exact same as the game, so just go play the game, that is an animated movie that you can control. Real-life actors or no go. Please get someone BIG for Drake and someone HOT for Elena.

People like you need to die...
Megan Fox... what the hell are you thinking?

You're being blinded, wake up and smell reality, Megan Fox would add to the awfulness that Hollywood will create with Uncharted, making a movie out of such a great game... we all know what happened with Dragonball Evolution... let's not have that happen to Uncharted.

Three Kings was a great movie, so was I heart Huckabees. Sure Huckabees was damn weird, but it fits the genre of movies like Little Miss Sunshine and Becoming John Malkovich. Pretty good director for a game movie that's for sure. Thank God they haven't spoken with Uwe Bowl.

Honestly, I could see this doing well as a movie. It's got the storyline nailed down and it isn't something stupidly unrealistic. As long as they find decent actors this could be a fantastic movie.

We already have enough Indiana Jones-type movies, no need for more. The games were already like movies, so why waste money to turn it into a lesser media?
