Sonic the Hedgehog Gets Release Date |

Sonic the Hedgehog's next outing on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 has finally received a release date according to IGN. The game will be available the same day as the PS3 launch, November 17, 2006. This is good news if you're one of the Blue Blur's fans that have been waiting for the next real Sonic game.
"The hurried hedgehog celebrates his 15th birthday this year and the game's title, Sonic the Hedgehog, is an homage to his origins on the late, great SEGA Genesis. There has been no announcement as to whether or not the PS3 version will take advantage of the motion sensitive controller; thus far, both versions are identical." So go ahead and mark your calenders, if you haven't already because of the PS3, for the next Sonic the Hedgehog game to hit consoles.

yeah I hope that that this game will be great
i thought the ps3 gets the game exclusivly for a couple of months....
i already pre ordered oblivion IV for it oh well get it some time later
ps3 needs more launch titles , that's good news.

I'd love it if IGN, or Gamespy, or whoever would do a side-by-side comparison of the PS3 version vs the X360's.
To go through the game's graphics, sounds, etc with a fine-toothed comb and see if there really is a huge difference (in ported games, anyways).
But I'm psyched for Sonic, and hopefully this new game isn't a POS like those of late.
I hope this Sonic game is good. I looks to be good. I hope it doesn't have the gay characters of some of the last ones in it.

I'm sure that, since the PS3 is a bit faster, the graphics are slightly better and the Blu-ray's storage medium is at least 25 GB compared to Xbox360's 9 GB DVD, that the PS3 version of Sonic will hold up better than the Xbox360 version. I'd really like to see Sonic Team take advantage of the Blu-Ray's extra storage space and allow us to switch between English and Japanese for voiceovers while retaining HD quality. And maybe unlock cool bonus features to commemorate Sonic's 15th anniversary, and a Super Hard difficulty for gameplay.
they aren't going to fill the blu ray up for Sonic....if you believe that...you need some help in the logic department.
