SOCOM: Confrontation's upcoming v1.30 patch update is looking quite a doozy. Better features, more fluid graphics, bug fixes, and the whole shebang. One of the biggest updates to be incorporated into the game will be the PS3 Trophy and SOCOM Awards system. Here's a bit of a preview on it from SCEA's very own Seth Luisi.

You'll be able to access the SOCOM Awards via the main menu: Records -> Awards. It's here in the SOCOM Awards that you can more or less preview the Trophy you get for your various achievements. There's going to be an icon to indicate if your Award will unlock a Trophy - it's going to say Silver or Bronze, etc., with your progress tracked on the percent gauge on the right.

And man, you're going to be in for quite a SOCOM marathon if you want to bag all of those trophies. Says Luisi:

It takes 8 full working days under controlled conditions for SCEA QA to collect all of the trophies in the game. SOCOM: Confrontation is not going to be one of those "easy trophies" games.

A picnic, Trophy hunting, is not.

» MGO

I would've had socom if Metal Gear Online wasnt the same concept minus all the glitches.

I have both, I got Socom about a week ago and there are things I like more then MGO, weapon customization and I like the more realistic health system, It just needs some tidying up

» Screw that...

MGO has tons of glitches, like heads being ridiculously huge and 4/5 shots being headshots....even when diving through the air...don't think so...

I'd like to know when this is hitting....from the sounds of it this update will have me playing this game again hardcore.

I didn't see the point when it was so glitchy as well as why put time into with no trophy support.

The game definately has a ridiculous amount of potential, and it's a shame they released it like this, as it would have gotten at least a rating of 8 or higher with everything fixed.

» I agree with Shatter.

MGO has more issues than any online shooter I've ever played. There have been times I've been shot through walls, killed twice when I was only killed once and even expierienced a match where someone was hiding in a wall...don't ask I don't get it either.

Plus the guns are extremely unbalanced with most of them deserving an extreme nerfing in some way (I'm looking at you M4). Unfortunatley when I first started I wanted to level my CQC/Knife/Shotgun first because I like close quarter combat and sneaking...it's Metal Gear afterall, and you can just spray bullets in any other shooter...basically I got to kiss any hope of getting the eagle or any other emblem that you obtain from high kill to death ratios goodbye...

Did the Patch come yet? I was hoping to get this game with trophy support.
