SOCOM: Confrontation patch 1.60 now available, Cold Front DLC pack dated

Great news SOCOM fans, Slant Six has finally released the latest patch for SOCOM: Confrontation. The massive patch includes new characters, new weapons, lots of new improvements and more.

Patch notes:

New Special Forces – The Dutch KCT and Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces teams are featured in this update. Each Force is provided with two new heads, a new voice and light, medium and heavy variants of their own torsos and legs (each with a unique camouflage pattern).
New Weapons – Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces. The Dutch KCT will have access to the 417 assault rifle, while the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces will receive the SPAS 15 shotgun. Additionally, four new weapons will be made available to players regardless of assigned Special Force. New weapons include the 9mm Sub Machine Gun, M82A1A, AK-74 and SR-25.
Weapon Updates – A number of weapon updates and adjustments to existing weapons have been included in the patch. Below is an overview of the updates and adjustments that have been made:
- M87ELR is given .50 cal rounds to balance it against the Mercenaries’ M82A1A.
- Shotguns are balanced to do less damage at long range but more damage at close range.
- Grenade launchers and rocket launchers have less delay in between shots.
- Front End weapons values are updated to reflect the new Cold Front DLC Pack weapons.
  In addition to the new characters and weapons, the team has also added 100% Random Medleys to the patch update.

And if that wasn't enough, SCEA has also revealed that the "Cold Front" DLC will be released on December 17, at a special price of US$ 9.99, but only until Sunday, December 20th.

Free Contents?? That Cold front map should be free by all means since ppl were ripped off of buying an incomplete PS3 exclusive. Th@s unacceptable! Players had to go through a year of patches to finally play the game @ its full potential, thanks to those in the community who called out every problem to be fixed and since it's the only Socom game for PS3.

and what do the devs do? sell you the game's first DLC for 9.99 for a limited price deal. I know the devs gotta make their money, but they did ppl dirty.

Yes it had it's delayed problems, but it's still the best online shooter.

Well before MW2, I read that it still has the largest regualr online base of PS3 users.

I love the AK-74 and 417. The M82 is a beast. I haven't tried the new M87 sniper yet.

Socom should have been made a masterpiece for the PS3. We have been playing since Socom I and Socom II. We deserve a work of art not a pile of glitches. I wish they would have just delayed the game and make it a polished Socom II. They should remake Socom II for PS3. I promise you if they make it just like the old one but with better graphics and NO BUGS, it WILL sell more than Confrontation.

I agree 100% that this map pack should be free. at least free to the players that have been here since the BETA.
