Waiting for information on the SOCOM: Confrontation Patch? Wait no more cos SCEA Senior Producer Mark Rogers has announced on the PS Blog that patch 1.50 is ready and rolling out next week.

According to his post, patch 1.50 will include new features such as Clan Ladders, Tournaments, Calendar, Follow-A-Friend, and Private Games. But those aren't the only things they've got in store for you, definitely not. Those are, in fact, just the tip of the iceberg!

Here's a few more:

Crashes, Freezes and Hangs Fixed

  • Players being booted out of the game to the XMB while loading into gameplay.
  • Players freezing on the loading screen going into and returning from gameplay.
  • Loss of input issues that occurred when using the pause menu or scoreboard.
  • Low frequency freezes when creating a clan.
  • Players occasionally getting stuck on the Quick Match screen after selecting an invitation.
  • Rare cases where players would become stuck in Spectator mode.

General Gameplay Updates

  • Numerous improvements to lag and latency, as well as bandwidth optimizations.
  • To eliminate exploits where players were escaping to outside of the playable space, many of the previously found routes are now blocked off. As a further measure, the playable areas are now surrounded by trigger volumes that will kill players attempting to find new exploits.
  • Players are no longer able to plant claymores through pillars, walls and other objects.
  • Target spotting will now default to OFF in all ranked games.
  • Fixed characters occasionally getting stuck when planting flares in Control mode.
  • Made the range players could plant the satchel more consistent between levels, in both Breach and Demolition modes.
Again, that's just a tease. To get the full list, head to the source link below. SOCOM Confrontation Patch 1.50 is coming out this Tuesday morning, Pacific Time.

Socom was released way too soon ... they lost of a lot of die hard fans with this socom

» *sigh*

People exaggerate about Confrontation though, most players that got it probably never played Socom before. Confrontation isn't bad. Unless you actually try to find glitches + what not the game is good. Many people play it, if someone was a fan of Socom they'd still play it. I do. This patch will just make it better.

I just bought the game yesterday (I was looking for the bt headset and the socom pack was only $5 more than the headset alone) hope to jump into it soon.

» It is different

Most of the proponents for this game are new players or those that have never played Socom before.

It has turned into a slow-paced game and there are many changes that just weren't needed.

I also still play it...just because it is a tps and the closest thing to Socom currently out there. I can still have fun....as long as there is teamwork and a solid gametype/map combo are going on. But I def. am not addicted like I was before. The term socrack no longer applies.

This patch will not change gameplay and fans that left will not come back to make a permanant home in the Socom franchise.
