SOCOM: Confrontation screenshot - Image 1Since it was announced that the online third-person shooter series which provided hours of fun is getting its next-gen fix on the Sony PlayStation 3, we've always been excited about the promising SOCOM: Confrontation by Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and developer Slant Six Games. Fortunately, not long after new screenshots were finally unleashed, more details have surfaced to give us a heads up on special forces that we can expect to play as.

Staple spec ops organizations in most games involved with realistic modern combat are in SOCOM: Confrontation, including the American Navy Sea, Air, and Land forces (SEAL), British Special Air Service (SAS), German Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK), Spanish Unidad de Operaciones Especiales (UOE), and the 1er Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine (1er RPIMa) from France.

There's a catch in trying to pick up colors of these groups - in SOCOM: Confrontation, you need to join a clan to access the equipment and other perks of the special forces. Otherwise, players can only roll as commandos or mercenaries. The game doesn't have a solid release date as of now, but expect heated confrontations to ignite later this year.

"There's a catch in trying to pick up colors of these groups - in SOCOM: Confrontation, you need to join a clan to access the equipment and other perks of the special forces. Otherwise, players can only roll as commandos or mercenaries." Looks like the hype for this game has just died down.

wow

slant 6 just doesnt get it... what they really need to do is just remake the past socoms which made the game so popular, update the graphice a little, update guns, maps, players, maybe some diff game types and stuff but keep it generally similar to previous games because i think the saying is "If it aint broke dont go and try and fix it by making a really stupid game where all you do is order a group of 4 people what to do and make a really boring game..."

not really

You can just make your own single man clan and there you go. But I guess that supposed to encourage "team-work".
