Skate's PS3 and Xbox 360 versions compared |
Listed in: PS3, Xbox 360 Tags: Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony
Ó
Skate is a game that's not just about speeding down a lane or getting smooth with 'em moves. It actually lets gamers take absolute control of their created characters and guide them from novice to superstar status. What's more, gamers can take advantage of Skate's option that allows them to upload clips of their finest tricks in order to show off exactly what level in the video game they're currently in. Players can even upload their fumbles as some form of entertainment, though most would probably opt not to.
So, did you spot any differences? Skate is coming out for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 soon. Better start saving up precious though for this one, because chances are it'll be flyin' high.

I've played the 360 demo several times, it's absolutely awesome, but I have a PS3, so guess which one I'm getting.

is it just me or on the shot where it shows the board; does the floor in the PS3 version look slightly more dtailed? by more detailed I mean it looks stained and dirty whilst the xboxx one still looks smooth and rather flat...
though in the 360s defence, the shadows look slightly better...
but yeah, very little difference... I guess this is all going to come down to what controller you prefer playing with...

Whoever says yer but the PS3 is not the machine used or wait until the programmers do this or that is just kidding themselves.

Xbox looks sharper on the tile floor, other than that ps3 looks sharper throughout - ie graphitti tag on skate ramp etc. Ps3 also has people in it.
I think PS3 has the slight edge, but its not a world of difference.

PS2 had around 5 million dvd problems and in the end they were fixed and it became a best seller(and is STILL in production), 360 has no where near that amount of problems and they now give you a 3 year warranty with it so you stuffed yourself a bit thee eh..

People seem to forget this is not like xbox vs PS2 where the xbox had actual features the PS2 did not (like pixel shaders) making bump-mapping and other things "physically" impossible on PS2.
This generation both consoles support the exact same set of features and abilities...they just go about them a little differently....so "porting" is not a big deal anymore.
If you have an engine running, using all your basic graphics features, the only "porting" that is done is that you have to switch from using directX commands (360) to using OpenGL(PS3)....it's not like there is a x360 programming language and a PS3 programming language.....they both use C and assembly....PS3 using abit more assembly to program the spu's but that's about it....
Quit making excuses one way or the other....

I'd have to say that as usual 360 has the better HDR lighting....but PS3 has a few more details going on(mainly the people).
Also the blurred background in that "playground" scene on the PS3 is actually better then the crisp clearity of the 360's BG....
They are trying to simulate atmospheric perspective where things will get hazier and less distinct the farther they move away from your eye, due to the increase of air/dust/fart particles that lay between your eye and the object you are looking at.
Too bad it's a *****e game, or i'd be happier to see PS3 pulling it's own weight and showing up 360 for once....even though you really have to take a magnifying glass to the comparison to say that...

Getting pretty good scores overall. There are more good reviews than bad reviews so face it Heavenly Sword is a great game. Anybody who thinks otherwise is in denial.

Anyways, Tynimoto doesn't have a 360, because he would have known ALL Xbox 360's have a 3 year warranty.
Also, Stealth, since you follow Microsoft so dearly, you would obviously know that #!1, Microsoft doesnt replace all motherboards, and #2 is if they did, what forces them to put a heatsink on yours? they put in whatever is closest to whoever is fixing your console, be it with 1337 heatsink or no 1337 heatsink.
So I guess you also boned yourself..
