Tired of memorizing buttons to perform different moves? The devs of Electronic Arts' SKATE (PlayStation 3 and Xbox360) seem to have the same frustration and decided to do something different. In this new trailer, we'll get to see how the new control scheme plays out.

Okay, so it's not so different. The Flickit controls are eerily similar to the controls in Fight Night: Round 3. The left analog stick would be used to steer while the right stick will be utilized for the tricks. The SKATE trailer shows some of the basic tricks like the ollie, kickflip, pop shove, 360 shove it, and 360 flip. It even shows the Tony Hawk controls and the SKATE controls side by side.

SKATE's Flickit controls will surely make gameplay interesting. What do you think? Will it be like the Wiimote problem (a lot of similar gestures netting the wrong move)? We'll see that in the long run, in the meantime watch the trailer. Enjoy!

» sixaxis?

i think it would be better if they used the sixaxis motion sensing capabilities.

that's what you get if you make games for the "ps3 and x360"...

» FLickit sounds gay.

Flickit sounds really stupid idea. Even the way you have to move the analog where it not natural. Just keep it easy with the controls and good gameplay like tony hawks games and the game will be fine. Instead making it to appear like Trasher game for the PS2.

While not amazingly keen on the controls I think using the sixaxis would be terrible. Can you seriously imagine shaking the pad around while trying to maintain thumbstick control?

You didn't think too hard about that one did you?

i think this will suck, because you will do tricks you dont intend to do, because some of them are almost the same on the thumbstick. i want a demo to try it
