Skate 2 PS3 requires a lot of hard drive space |

Just a quick FYI guys, you might want to free up some memory and clean that PS3 drive up 'cause it's gonna need lotsa of room if you want to play Skate 2 (PS3, Xbox 360). This isn't really big news, but this is all about big memory - the game requires more PS3 hard drive real estate than the average game.
According to the game's box, Skate 2 will take up 2GB of your precious PS3 memory - 2,182MB to be more precise. No word from Electronic Arts on specifics on the game's features that demand a lot of memory, and why this doesn't go the same for Xbox 360, but we'll keep you posted if ever there's an update.

That's not "a lot" Look at MGS4, 5.5GB every act. Not to mention: GTA, Fallout, and Oblivion. Many more I'm sure.

"...why this doesn't go the same for Xbox 360..." Why would it go the same for the 360? Not every 360 has an HDD, unlike EVERY PS3. That's why.
it's lucky for me a got my 500GB hard drive for my PS3 for Christmas. Although, QJ, while it's annoying it's not a lot compared to games which have 5GB installs like MGS4, Fallout 3, and GT5:P (which took up 6!), but seriously, all you tw@s saying QJ is getting desparate, please STFU, no one forced you to read this, and there will be many people reading this who would have want to know about installs(like me).
I was expecting 6-7GB of space which only happens if the game's on Blu-ray. Because technically that's like installing the whole game to the HDD which probably isn't a problem for most PS3 owners.
I agree with you there. Not only that, there isn't always 'interesting' news to post every hour of the day! People would soon moan if QJ stoped posting news because it wasn't deemed to be interesting enough by a few readers

i came to this article expecting to read about it needing a 10gb install or something lol 2gb is nothing when it comes to ps3 installs *cough* DMC4 7gb *cough*
Every single PS3 game comes on a Blu-ray disc. Even the disc for the PlayStation Eye is on a BD. Uncharted was on Blu-ray and didn't need an install. It's all down to the way the game has been developed.
@ papajag... i guess u wouldnt know becuz u dont even have a ps3.. anyways.. 2Gb is a lot when compared to so many other games that have been installed in a 60gb-80gb hdd.. espesially for me... i have like 30 movies which sums up to 22gbs+, nd a whole lot of music, with like mgs4, assassins creed, gta4 installed.. i think thats wut qj means by a lot of space, and it makes sense.. but i did hear that if u put more than 160Gb hdd or a ps3, the ps3 overheats a lot which can cause the yellow light.. can anyone confirm this for me? i'm just trying to be precautious...lol

How much did skate1 take hdd space? Iirc 2.5gb?
PS3 exclusives because most of those games usually go past 7.29GB of disc space. Trust me that's the exact amount of space is on all DVD DL games(7.29GB). Of course some don't need installations like mentioned above. Hell if I could installed everything for MGS4 at once I would have rather than installing every chapter.
having a large hardrive wont cause it to overheat, maybe not sticking to the same rpm as the ps3 hardrive may cause it to. but my ps3 is also running as cool as wheni first got it and now when i upgraded to my 360GB. btw when a manafacturer states a memory size you will most likely not get all of it. most people who are pc savvy will know why.
I wasn't expecting like 15+ gigs or something.....2 gigs is nothing, like a large demo, big deal...
