SingStar US delayed due to licensing issues - Image 1 With Sony Computer Entertainment's SingStar for the PlayStation 3 being prepared for a December launch in Europe, we imagine the gamers over in North America are wondering when they'll get a chance at the spotlight (and mic). According to Sony Computer Entertainment America's (SCEA) Peter Dille, the company had yet to confirm an exact release for SingStar's U.S. release.

Dille further noted that the game would be coming out next year, shortly after the game's Europe debut. As to the reasons for the delay, Dille explained that it was not due to hardware problems, but rather, SingStar was getting delayed due to licensing problems. As Dille told 1up during an interview:

Yeah, it's not a technology issue at all. It'll be a disc-based product and that'll be a great experience in and of itself, but obviously we're equally if not more excited to deliver content via the PlayStation Network and have consumers experience new songs that way. We want to make sure we get it right and consumers get that full experience. I don't think we'll be talking about a huge delay, but it's something we had to push back a little bit.

We'll let you know if any more details for SingStar's U.S. release date is announced.
