SingStar to hit the U.S. on May 20

Europe has long enjoyed SingStar, the karaoke game for the PlayStation 3 - but the spotlight won't remain exclusive to Europe anymore. Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) will soon launch SingStar for the Sony PS3 in U.S. shores on May 20 after a considerable delay, and will even launch the game locally with a bang.

Sony is planning to hold a SingStar demo at the Rock Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, where they will set up an interactive booth where aspiring vocalists, both novice and advanced, can show off their singing talents. But the SingStar demo isn't only for those brave enough to take the stage; visitors to the booth can also check out the online SingStore and the game's plethora of additional downloadable songs that will become available upon launch.

Other hot upcoming titles can be tried out in the Rock Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival event: LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. If you live near Coachella's venue, there's no reason why you should miss your chance of being able to belt out some tunes in high-definition.
