Shoryuuken! Street Fighter IV ships 2 million copies worldwide |
Ó
Street Fighter IV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) is only a week old in stores, but that didn't stop the latest Street Fighter title from selling like mad. Capcom was very proud to announce that they've shipped 2 million copies of Street Fighter IV.Comes to a surprise? I don't think so. Capcom didn't hold back at all with publicity. In-line with its Street Fighter 20th Anniversary project came arcade machines, the console games, plus various events such as the Street Fighter IV National Tournament and Street Fighter IV Fight Club.
Under its "Single Content, Multiple Usage" strategy, Capcom will release the Hollywood film "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" starring the lovely Kristin Kreuk. The movie was set in motion to help revitalize and revive the Street Fighter brand by inviting new fans and calling upon the old ones.

because its a very good game. and it deserves it.
i agree?
This deserves an 'lol'
i remember my first time loading the game up my first opponent in arcade was El Fuerte and he went sorta dancing all over!!! i was like "the the f*** is this guy doing!!!"
never a dull moment playing SFIV and my mates and i just spent the last weekend trash talking each other and spilling beer on my carpet...
two of which bought a PS3 the day after that... why not xbox? cause i'm on PS3 so we ain't hatin.
a testament to the allure of this timeless game.
The game's profits will cover the movie's losses.
Glad to hear it's doing well. I've been playing mine on my PS3 for many, many hours since I got it last Thursday and it's a lot of fun. I'm still just an average player on it though. Used to think I was fairly decent and would win a lot in two player battles, but some of the training and survival modes have me struggling but it's hugely enjoying just practising more and more and very satisfying when I've mastered a combo I had trouble with before. I still need to unlock Gouken and Seth though.
good way to look at it
is not the same thing as sold. But I'm sure it will sell that much soon.
capcom could use that cat as a street fighter lV mascot
Great game, got the collectors edition the other day, was able to play it, and boy playing Akuma my favorite player in 3D graphics was awesome fun.
Anyway as much as the street fighter movie that came out in 96 wasn't great, it's still going to be a better movie than this one. Sorry but as much as I may like the actors in other movies, they're horrible to play as the SF characters. I'm a monster SF fan, since I grew up playing the game around age 6, but Kristen Kruek legs are so scrawny it pains me to just picture her in this movie. She's going to ruin Chun Li images. :(
probably sold more because it came with home costumes
I didn't see them. I did get a shirt by unlocking it during gameplay though.
It was 1994. And surely this newer film can be better just because it doesn't look like a cheap crappily made piece of crap with a talentless cast (Raul Julia was the only guy with any acting ability in the older movie but he was miscast as Bison). This Chun Li movie may be crap but surely nothing can ever be as bad as Van Damme and Minogues suckfest.
The only one I saw being a good fit for this movie in terms of actor selection was Micheal Clarke Duncan as Barlog(or was it balrog?) That's basically it, everyone else is just a horrible choice. I mean it doesn't even look like SF. It looks just as bad as the Dragon Ball movie. X_X
I loved the 96 SF movie. While it wasn't the best as a fan, the movie has some great actors. Bison and Van Dam played pretty good. But I suppose it's the difference of times.
