Restock for Canada on Feb/MarchAlong with another round of applause from the consumers, here comes another round of PS3 shipments for Canada. And you thought that only Best Buy branches in North America were getting new stocks of the console? Think again.

It's just been announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Canada marketing and public relations manager Matt Levitan that the next couple of months will have new PS3 shipments coming in. "You'll probably see a lot more on the shelves in February than you will January," he says, "and probably even more in March than you did February."

He also gives a statement that they could have sold more if they had more units at hand. "The demand is far exceeding supply," he adds.

The specific number of units arriving in Canada wasn't revealed, but do you remember Sony's expectation from last year? They intend to ship six million PS3s worldwide by March 31st of this year.

You guys think they can make it past their self-imposed quota? They've already announced over one million units shipped so far in the U.S. alone. With the European launch looming ever so near, plus this Canada shipment promised above, (not to mention shipments in Japan) the six million target is more than do-able for Sony.

Uh...

Yeah, this is gonna help the availability at the Euro launch, isn't it? Get the console launched in Europe with enough numbers. Sony made that mistake with the PSP. I don't want to have to bribe the shop owners again.

With less and less consumers buying, no worries in europe

One exclusive title to play and that's why I see PS3's in Canada now. Not even Motostorm will stem the tide. The reason why they're gonna ship to Canada is they saturated the US at this point in time. That's not good for a supposedly wanted console.

They always had this number planned.

The 6million was always planned for North America. They have differnt and SECURED shipment numbers for europe. You guys use a differnt power wattage so they cant get mixed up.

False comments

""The demand is far exceeding supply," he adds." Retailers around the country have tons of ps3's sitting on shelves collecting dust. I'm calling that quote bogus.

Get Real

Thats funny I thought at least 1 millions people must have wanted the ps3. You fools said the same thing about the ps2 and it crushed everything. I dont understand why you would want any system to fail. If there are multiple platforms available There will always be great innovations from them. Otherwise they stagnate. You should all be rooting for all the consoles. You people bashing any one system are fools because every system on the market has very positive strengths unique to each console.

talk talk

all it takes is for one game to get all these fanboys to switch sides. they are as loyal as their pockets allow. if your local walmart has 10-25 ps3s you must live in a low income area or you go to a walmart that is in the middle of nowhere. where i live there is never ps3s or wiis in stock...ever. competition creates creativity and brings out the best. its not console wars is fanboy wars.

to the ones saying theres ps3's all over canada...

I live in the small province of nova scotia (in Canada) and It's impossible to find PS3's just about anywhere. Even places like best buy and ebgames have no PS3s. I doubt that bigger places, say toronto or vancouver with a much bigger population has a surplus of PS3's gathering dust. - Infact, at my local 'super store' you can't find a wii, PS3 or even PS2 for that matter. But sitting proudly on the shelf with a layer of dust? A good 20 Xbox360s.

PS3 collecting dust? whatever

PS3 here at SONY Metreon store in San Francisco are always sold out. People are always lining up whenever they hear that there is a new shipment. Collecting dust??? you mean XBOX 360?

re

We'll be alright over in Europe, we just need Sony to ship over some of the Japanese console that aren't selling and we'll be fine...
