Shelved: Tiberium development ceased, did not meet quality expectations |
Ó

Electronic Arts has confirmed to Kotaku that development for Tiberium has ceased. Yep, the upcoming Command & Conquer FPS title that's been scheduled for release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC will never see the light of day.
The internal memo which was disseminated to the EA team working on Tiberium states a shortcoming in quality as a reason why they've decided to stop further development.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce an end to all work on Tiberium effective immediately. I've consulted with Nick Earl and Frank Gibeau at the EA Games Label and together we have reached the conclusion that given the time and resources remaining, we will not be able to deliver this product to an appropriate level of quality.
The game had fundamental design challenges from the start. We fought to correct the issues, but we were not successful; the game just isn't coming together well enough to meet our own quality expectations as well as those of our consumers.
As a result of this, EA also had to let go of several of their employees involved in the project, with a promise to "place affected individuals on [other] projects within the studio – and where that isn't possible, to connect them with opportunities in other teams at EA."

EA have quality expectations? First i hear of it. The amount of buggy ***** that company have let through their fingertips is unbelievable. I never buy EA titles until at least 3 months or 2 patches later.
If EA cans a game because it wasn't up to their standards, it must have been absolutely horrendous.
they should have sold it on market place and psn store
why take a loss , sell for like $20. aren't you curious how bad it could have been?
EA's judgement is shot and the game was actually amazing/creative/immersive
