Set adrift on memory bliss: Gran Turismo HD "Drifting" HD vid

MotorStorm might have all the splashing mud, flying cyclists, and canyon drops. But when you're talking about drifting, ah, that's where Gran Turismo HD comes in. Among the nifty little things you could do in the game (aside from just sitting back and watching the eye candy of your replays) is testing your skill in sliding through the course in your red hot, hot-rod of a Ferrari.

If you haven't downloaded the demo yet, we've got you covered. Aside from our first impressions of the racer, here's a video showing you how to skid around the track. Note the flag counters on the top half of the screen every time the car drifts. As the time span of your drift gets longer, the flags turn red. As more flags on the gauge turn red, the higher your total score. And the higher your score... well, the more bragging rights you get. Ha-ha!

» wow

considering us europeans wont see this for another 3months, i think it looks absolutely stunning, even for what is a beefed up GT4. Cant wait to see what GT5 will be like when the developers have begun to puch the PS3 and its hardware

» holy hell

will you people stop posting vids of drifts in gt:hd. Every video you post is crap compared to the pros in gt4. Go to youtube and type fbi drift. Thats how you drift in the GT games.

» umm

your probably another one of those unreal car hobbiest that play games like need for speed alot.l

This video isnt about the drifting, in fact QJ could care less about the drifting.

Its about the visual power of the PS3 and the game.

» lol, RE: bob

if you don't have a PS3, you won't know how hard it is to actually control the damn cars in the first place. This isn't like older GT series. This uses real physics via the Cell processor and steering is very hard. So drifting isn't as fake as it used to be...

I didnt really see any real drifting in this video..

» I do own a ps3

I down own a ps3, and i do have GT:HD. And i can drift 10x better then that in GT:HD. But i also have respect for the people who drift in the GT games because they are real drifters compared to these corny games like nfs. But there are wayyyyyyy better drifters in GT:HD then what QJ has been posting the last several weeks.

(Comment on the video): You're supposed to DRIFT in "DRIFT TRIAL".

I'm rank 52 with the Miata...

The tire physics are definitely improved from GT4. Either that or the miata is drift tuned when you enter Drift Trial. I think that's the diff between the "normal" and the "tuner".
