Sega: Resonance of Fate will get simultaneous US and Euro release |
Ó

For years now, Europe has mostly been getting the short end of the stick when it comes to game releases, especially when it comes to games from Japan. The time between a game's Japanese and European launches can reach up to a year, but developer tri-Ace is apparently trying hard to make sure their new JRPG, Resonance of Fate (PS3, Xbox 360), doesn't suffer the same, well, fate.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Sega Europe's localization producer, Jun Yoshino, said that they are targeting a simultaneous US and European release for the game. Yoshino explained that the move is being done in order to keep European gamers from losing interest in the JPRG.
"America and Europe is the same release. Usually the European version comes a year after, let’s say the Japanese release. During the year, a lot of people are going to like, well this is old news now. We’re going to be losing a lot of interest if there is such a long time as a year. We’ve scheduled it in so we can get it out as quick as possible.”
Of course, with the amount of localization and the number of languages the game needs to be translated to -- not to mention its play length -- this is no easy task. Yoshino assured gamers, however, that they've been "working really hard, putting in long hours, so the release difference, the time gap, will be as small as possible."
Resonance of Fate will be released in Japan later this year as End of Eternity. International releases are currently pegged at Spring 2010.
