XenomorphEggs, tech, and aliens. Add in a blue, mach-speed rodent, and you'd think we're talking about the next Sonic game, except it's not. Sega just announced they're be tossing in their two cents and are currently working on multiple games based on the highly popular "Alien" movie franchise by 20th Century Fox.

While there aren't any details on what's cooking in Sega's development lair, there are talks that two specific genres for the line-up would include an FPS and an RPG, and that the games would be targetted for the PC, and next-gen console market.

"We haven't finalized anything at this point, but everything is on the table," said Sega's business development VP Rob Lightner,  "It's important for everyone to understand the difference here: We're taking licensing to the next level with this franchise."

In connection to this comment, Lightner also mentioned that Sega was contacting famous personalities from the past Alien films - people like Sigourney Weaver (Ripley) and Lance Henriksen (Bishop) - to lend their image and likeness to the games in the works.

And for the fans out there, Sega's "Alien" game senior producer Mike Gallo comments that the game's won't be exclusively tied in to the four previous "Alien" films, but will instead be drawing its story elements from the backstory that created this films in the first place (anybody remember the AVP novels?).

"We're also looking at all 'Alien' source material for inspiration, in addition to the films. We may incorporate some characters that fans know and love, and we may let gamers find answers to questions that were left unanswered in the movies."
