Screenshots: Max Payne 3 looking too much like Torque of The Suffering? |
Ó
Instead, it is curious because they did a side-by-side comparison of Max Payne with the lead character from a 2004 game from Midway, The Suffering. And what do you know, Max and Torque do eerily have striking resemblances - give or take certain customizations.
Was Rockstar even conscious of these similarities, or are they mere coincidences? I mean, how many video game heroes with the same khaki pants, white top and crisscross gun holster could there be, really?
See for yourself and compare.

There making a third Max Payne!!! Yay! Omg I loved the first one! Still haven't played the second one. I wanna say one thing to RockStar, DONT YOU DARE MAKE DEAD BODIES DISAPPEAR. I loved that in Max Payne 1, when you killed someone the dead bodies would never disappear. I hope this one is just like the original.
Coincidence, they aren't unique characters in anyway, they are pretty generic looking, and why would rockstar or any company need to copy another games charater that looks that bland and boring anyway.
Thats all I can say besides the fact that Mr. Payne needs an Extreme Makeover: Max Payne Edition!
The Suffering was a great game..
Torque was a pretty bad ass character. I don't blame rockstar for copying.
He looks more like Sam fisher somewhat from Splinter cell: double agent.
They both look like Bruce Willis from die hard....so what ?
Cynamite.de is not Dutch, it's German... Dutch is .nl :)
These are the first screenshots I've seen of MP3 and I was hyped after seeing that first concept image.
But really, they're pulling a Live Free or Die Hard and making him bald? I like the outfit though, taken straight from the first Die Hard. And hopefully you get bloodied up and your clothes ripped throughout the game as well. (Hmmm... no screens of his feet, possibly barefoot too? That'd make an interesting game mechanic that stepping on glass hurts you...)
You know when original ideas have run dry when the biggest games of the year feature characters who are now in their senior years...
Can't wait :) I just hope it isnt yet another one of those games that has super human AI like all the others. I hate walking into a room not making any sound, and the enemy all at the same time turn and open fire. pfft, what if I was their boss? Some of the AI have super human sight and can see you miles away too, and have weapons that fire unlimited clips and unlimited range not missing a shot.
Weird AI placement too, like remember that one part on Drakes Fortune after the library thing where you go under that boss' office? He just finishes saying something about not knowing where the tombs are (or whatever) and his men have seemingly been down there, cleared everything out and set up lights. The entrance you come in is a secret enterance, and before that cutscene with the boss talking theres like a huge canyon.. so how did those guys get down there? Also Drake was annoying with his superhuman jumping.. he can jump up cliffs yet he cant jump over a small rock! hah.
Also, two enemy factions in games tend to team up mid-battle and go against you, even if you dont attack them. Like the part where those weird creatures are at the end, they team up with the guards.. same with Force Unleashed, the rebels and stormies.. the felucians and the stormies (different planets species and stormies) etc, they all work together to kill you?! why? /endramble
So yeah, I just hope the game isnt like that. Max Payne always kicks ass though.
