Screen Digest predicts that PS3 will dominate next year |

People love dramatic comebacks, and consoles are no exception. With the Nintendo Wii still going strong despite the shortage, media analyst firm Screen Digest predicts that while the Nintendo Wii may win this year's next-gen console slugfest, the following year may very well be the year of the Sony PlayStation 3.According to Screen Digest, Sony's multimedia services and exclusive titles could very well turn the tide of battle in favor of the PS3 next year. Piers Harding Rolls, Senior Games Analyst for Screen Digest, had this to say:
One of the market shifts to watch out for in 2008 will be the continued evolution of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from games consoles to multi-media hubs. Now that these multi-media services – online video, IPTV, digital terrestrial TV and PVR functionality - are now available or poised to come on line in different markets, this 'hub' strategy is emerging as a key console battleground for Microsoft and Sony.
Then again, only time will tell whether these predictions actually come to pass or not. Regardless of who comes out on top next year, it's the consumers who stand to benefit from the efforts of the "The Big Three" to outdo each other.

Have a cookie. Anyways. I think qj puts up one of these every day lol, just from a different source. Everyone thinks that the ps3 will dominate 2008 though and i am no exception. This is news we hear every day.
Well only time will tell PS3 needs ta catch up badly wit the other two and next year seems there best bet theyve already announced their top games for next year so they are a step ahead of the other two in hype for the game....i hope nintendo pulls out some much awaited stuff like animal crossing and mario kart of course and maybe even info on the next Big Zelda at e3 and stuff......but SMASH BROS WILL DESTROY ALL!!! Thats gonna be the biggest next year or at least like one of the top three!!
well i believe i offer a "good" reason to why Sony will dominate 08. Th Japanese market. RE5 , Silent Hill 5, DMC4, MGS and FF13(i know last 2 are exclusives but they help prove my point) are all pretty much exclusives in japan because they would not buy it for a American console over a Japanese based console. The Japaneses market is extremely important as Nintendo has shown time and time again just look the the DS/Wii sale figures for Japan. When Bluedragon as released they started selling copies like crazy now imagine the impact for sony when mgs RE5 etc come out. They are going to be moving consoles like crazy.
i agree i did not want a Wii at all but my step father got 1 for his B day and the main game I'm DYING to play is Super Smash Bros. My top 5 games for next eyarare MGS4 FF13 and SSB Killzone 2 GT5.
