Yes, Brütal Legend (PS3, Xbox 360) will be getting DLC. We just don't know what kind yet. Speaking to VG247 at an EA spring showcase event in London, all Brütal Legend creator Tim Schafer could say without PR guys taping his mouth shut was that the DLC will be "something awesome".

VG247 noted that the game, which was shown during the event, only had placeholder music as licensing deals weren't signed yet. This could mean that the DLC will be more music for hero Eddie Riggs to play on his guitar Clementine.

Double Fine and Electronic Arts are tracking an October release for Brütal Legend.

pisses me off... the game isnt even out yet and they already know what the dlc is... im totally down for them delaying the game to include the dlc on disc, but will this happen? no. EA can pocket your money, but this article made this a no buy for me.

I'm sure this has been going on fr awhile, but it's become so acceptable devs brag about "cool DLC" before the game is even out. Ridiculous

Isn't $60 enough?

I don't understand why they create it before the game is out and then release the ***** that is already completed a month later. Perfect example is RE5. Source code not finished my ass.

I'm also tired of the DLC fashion by the devs. Yes DLC is awesome, but only if it's worth my money and created after I got bored of the current game.

Unfortunately it's a result of used game sales. They need to encourage people to hold onto their discs for as long as possible during the first few months.

and I mostly agree with it, they do need to make up for lost revenue from pirating/used sales, but they don't need to go around yelling about their DLC before the game itself is even finished

I guess its not such a big deal since you don't HAVE to buy it, it's just not cool.

The things I can't stand are supposed "new content" that clocks in at 108kb, meaning it's already on the disc and you're buying an unlock code. Followed closely by releasing DLC the same day the game releases. Those two things should be unacceptable, but people buy it so devs keep doing it
