SCEE reiterates: No Afrika for Europe |

With one simple sentence, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has dashed faint hopes of Afrika being Europe-bound by next year. Or have they?
"I can now confirm that there are currently no plans to release Afrika in Europe," said a spokesperson from SCEE. The usage of the word "currently" still leaves some doubt as to whether or not this is a final decision or they're just waiting for the right time to announce it. They've already said that the game won't be released in Europe before, but hey, hoping's free.
Rumors of Afrika heading to Europe by 2009 started when a Sony stand was spotted at Photokina in Cologne a week ago. The stand was showing Afrika in English and, upon further questioning, the people at the booth said that the game will be released in Europe in 2009.

Africa can't even get Afrika. I don't see what the problem is with releasing games to other regions. They're all money makers. It's not like they're building the game from the ground up just to release it outside of a region. There are a couple of Japanese games, that only need text translations, that I would buy if they ever came to the states.

There are no guns so why buy it? The reason they don't want to release it is because they don't want to risk is...They are not like Squeenix that port every crap they make
Have you not looked at what's on the PSN? There are a bunch of great selling games that don't have guns. LBP is going to be a big hit (not to me anyways) and that game doesn't even have guns. Porting games? WTF are you talking about, the game is already made for the PS3, there is no porting involved. It's just a matter of changing dialog and text.
