Sony UK: No 120GB PlayStation 3s here - Image 1As you guys may recall, there are ongoing rumors that Sony may be planning to release 120GB to 160GB PlayStation 3 SKUs in the near future.

The rumor further indicated that the new units would carry the equally new DualShock 3 controller, and a Blu-ray copy of Spider-Man 3.

In light of this bit of speculation, Sony Computer Entertainment  Europe sent out a spokesman to state that there were no plans regarding this new unit, at least within their territory. Quoting the spokesman's exact words:

We (SCEE) do not currently have any plans to release a 120GB PlayStation 3 in the UK.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has yet to make any comments regarding this rumor. At the moment, this bit of speculation's being helped along by another rumor indicating that the PS3's 80GB version is being pulled out by local retailers.

That's all the info available for the moment - we'll let you know if we find any related updates.

SONY WILL NOT RELEASE a 120-160gb PS3 SKU.

sony will make a new ps3 sku with more than 200gb hdd

dual shock 3, no pack in bluray movie and still no ps2 backwards compatibility.

may eventually also come in white or silver color!
