PS3 XmB - Image 1We all know that a number of PlayStation 3 owners had their consoles bricked by the 2.40 firmware update and there's no excusing that. In a nice show of support to its customers, however, SCEA has announced that they will be repairing or replacing such units struck by freezing problems free of charge. It's a nice way for making it up to the afflicted if you ask us.

Through a representative, SCEA said:

Our Consumer Services department is working directly with any impacted PS3 users, and, if it's determined that they were affected solely by the 2.40 issue, then their units will be repaired or exchanged at no cost. SCEA stands behind its products and always works to ensure the best possible consumer experience.

There you have it. If you were one of the people affected by the 2.40 weirdness, get in touch with SCEA fast and take what is due you and get on with the fun of gaming as soon as possible.
