As reported, Finnish magazine Pelaaja contained a few screens previewing the latest installment to the iconic post-apocalyptic RPG franchises in PC gaming history, Fallout. And Bethesda's new take Fallout 3 slated for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 seems to be serious eye-candy indeed.

After revealing much information of how the game should play out including the introduction of VATS and the return of Karma, there are still many skeptical fans of the franchise who believe that Bethesda could be ruining the whole series with Fallout 3. Bethesda has promised many features will stay faithful to the franchise, perhaps in hopes not to alienate the cult following it has created since Wasteland (oh noes, flashback!).

Unfortunately, only one of the screens shows the VATS system at work and appears to have traded third-person combat for first-person. We can't say if this is exclusive to the VATS mechanic or if all battles play out similarly. How far will Bethesda go with the title? Check out the scans for yourself and give it a thought or two.

This was published already in the recent Game Informer that has been on shelves for sometime. None the less, this game is yet another title to look forward too on all systems. This generation seems to be the best yet in terms of gameplay.

The latest issue of GI states that Bethesda realized that if they include a 3rd person, people WILL play it so they have worked to make third person look fluid and functional unlike Oblivion. They stated that the combat system will be tactical and you will have a choice between pseudo real time and a step by step tactical decision process. It looks like they are handling it quite well, different and updated of course, but quite well.

As a Fallout 1 + 2 fan, I say boycott this first/thrid person hybrid **it that they call "Fallout 3".

Stop buying from Bethesda! They ruin everything.

That picture which show us peek to combat system looks just like Oblivion :) Of course it is the same engine...

But consentrate only to the super mutant figure. To me it's frightening look-a-like to oblivion's monsters. I just hope that they'll do something more than a mod for their previous game :/

Oh, and if Bethseda is using the same voice actors as in OB, I'll definetly put bullet in my head instead of playing it x/

Old Old Old images, but doesn't the top image remind you of Oblivion in a futuristic setting? Bethesda are going to have to get some new organic artists because the texture on those human models is horrible.
