Santa sells PS3 for $ 1 |

Ó
Now this may seem crazy, but it looks like a very charitable guy called On Ouchs from Canada is about to make a PlayStation fan very happy on Christmas. How, you ask? By hand-delivering a brand new Sony PS3 which s/he will have bought from eBay for just US$ 1!On Ouchs paid $1,700 CAD (about $1,500 USD) for a PS3 60 GB console and the games Resistance: Fall of Man and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well as an extra wireless controller. He also paid $ 750 to get a spot in line at his local game store. Now he wants to give someone a happy Christmas by giving it away for virtually nothing.
To try and "win" the PS3 auction for $ 1, you can try buying it now, but remember to register first at the Write to Santa page (just follow the Read link at the bottom of this post). Anybody who makes what On calls the "good list" will be placed on a pre-approved bidder list to buy the PS3 for just $1, and at that point, whoever gets the bid in first wins. Delivery is free worldwide and On Ouchs is making an effort to be able to deliver the PS3 by hand to the bidder's doorstep if possible. His reasons for doing this?
Now why - you ask - am I doing this? I am a nice guy and I want to make someone's Christmas a little brighter this year.
I want to make history and, in the process, maybe make an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and other television talk shows. I was initially going to list this PS3 for $1 million, with 90 percent going to charity, but found others had already gone that route. I wanted to be unique and, quite possibly, give a PS3 to someone who might not be able to afford it otherwise.

What is horrible is that I read some of these forums and can't believe how mean people are to each other. Kids mainly.

It looks fine on a regular TV, why would it look any worse than an Xbox or a Wii?

dah it's not HD, but it's superb anyway, just think about it, the movies in the games are looking awesome on SD no? so why should the games on SD who don't even match the movies of the games could be looking bad?
anyway, everybody was telling me that the motorstorm demo on a tube tv is WOW! so nobody should care about the TV ( I have a sony wega 32" tube TV outputting 480i and I think my TV is completly perfect!!! and it cost around 470$, so it's not "that" much!
and for the topic, I wonder why he did this... maybe he's RICH, or maybe he have some mental problem... anyway I live in Canada and I'd live to be his friend, lol. ( what? that's my gift? OH *****! ) *joke

The PS3 looks as fine/normal on a standard TV as any other console. It doesn't look like crap. It simply looks a lot better on a big HD TV.
Anyway, I don't get why some peopl bash this kid. He's doinga good thing. God bless him, and I hope the one who actually wins the PS3 is one of those who really cant afford it.

you're all evil people, i'd like to believe there's some people out there still who are willing to give and not just take.
mr.common sense may have a point, but hopefully whoever gains from this guy's generosity will honor his intentions.
i also think it's sad you have to be labelled 'a christian' to need to believe in a good deed, i'm a staunch unbeliever - you couldn't pay me to join... but i still believe in people.

So he would get to pocket the other $900,000?
Nice!

1,000,000/100+10,000 (which is 1%)
10,000x90(%)+900,000 (going to charity)
10,000x10(%)+100,000 (his keep)
in your words "gets to pocket the other 900,000"
that means
900,000 for charity + 900,000 he 'pockets' +
1,800,000
almost 2 million? errr no.
anyway, that's a really nice thing to do. whether he genuinely wants to make someone happy, or just wants his 5 minutes of fame..
i hope it brightens up someone less fortunate's christmas. :)

I'm so glad there are some people out there that actually care about others, cause you show that humanity is going nowhere fast. Thanks to some of the kinder people on this site that actually feel the way I do. Timmy maybe you should look at yourself before bashing a Christian and bashing other people cause yourself look worse than everyone here. Do you feel good about yourself? Of course, you'll just spam "I don't care blah blah" than log off and go "Wow, I'm an ass and I actually hate myself right now"

Also, i have to say, quite a few of the people here are self-centered, thinking about "whats in it for me", and "go for the money stupid, are you crazy?". Man, this is how people act...

1 dollar to BID on it..
if 1 million people bid on it, he makes almost a million bux..

he's seeking fame and money, he is far from altruistic.
if you can't afford to buy a ps3 and you don't sell it, you'd be either stupid or young enough to not have bills.
"just like all those other big fat rich people who give to charity" hardly. maybe you honestly don't care about anyone other than yourself, other people do. money is only the means to an end, and those ends aren't always materialistic.
most of the affluent people i have ever met deserve every penny, their drive and determination is what gets them to that point in life. the ones who don't deserve it, squander it because they don't realise it's true worth.

2. If he was doing it to make more money and publicity how does that make him a fool? If anything it is smart.

Still, he expected to pocket $100,000?
Maybe I should have done that. psh.
